Husky Players Earn Honors On and Off the Field...

Three Husky players received the Scholar Athlete Award for maintaining a 3.5 or better GPA this entire school year. They are Glen Beebe, James Drake, and Tyler Kesthely. Congratulations for the outstanding work in the classroom.

Junior outfielder and pitcher Tyler Linehan, along with senior SS and pitcher Mike Correa were named to the Delta River League All-League First Team. Mike also earned a spot on the Optimist All-Star Team (top seniors in the Sacramento area). Mike finished the season with the school's all time save record (4), 4th in batting avg (.424), 2nd in hits (36), 3rd in RBI's (34), 7th in runs scored (24), tied for 9th in doubles (7), tied for sixth in home runs (2), and 5th in slugging percentage (.624). Tyler broke his own school record for strikeouts in a season (70 in 2008) with 93, he also threw the first no-hitter in Sheldon High School history. He set the school record with 15 strikeouts in a game, and allowed opponents to a school record low .132 average. Offensively Tyler set the school record for on base percentage (.539), slugging percentage (.797), and triples (5). He also was 3rd in average (.435), tied for 8th in hits (30), 5th in RBI's (29), 9th in runs scored (23), tied for 5th in doubles (9), and tied for 6th in home runs (2).

Congratulations to all players for their outstanding accomplishments on and off the field!

NEXT BOOSTER MEETING

Wednesday JULY 8TH at 7:00pm in room 300 at Sheldon High School, next to the Performing Arts Center. We will continue preparations for the Fireworks Booth this summer.
